A year ago, Hilton Honors launched a new small business programme called ‘Hilton for Business’.

The good news is that it is very slick and integrates perfectly with your existing Hilton Honors account.

The even better news for 2025 is that many hotels are now allowing ‘Hilton for Business’ members to booked Advance Purchase rates. These will be cheaper than the Advance Purchase rate offered to the public.

This is how it works:

  • when you sign up your small business, you are asked for your existing Hilton Honors account details. Your ‘Hilton for Business’ account is linked to this.
  • the only requirement for joining is that you have a business email address which you must verify by clicking a link in a test email sent to you. There is no requirement to provide a company registration or VAT number. You MUST have a unique email suffix (eg ‘headforpoints.com’ in our case). It is NOT essential that the address on the Hilton Honors account has this suffix.
  • once you have signed up, you receive a link to send to co-workers. By clicking the link, they can join your ‘Hilton for Business’ account and link it to their existing Hilton Honors account.

How do you book rooms with ‘Hilton for Business’?

It is impressively simple. Going forward, when you or your co-workers log in to the Hilton website, they will be given the choice of whether they want to see ‘Hilton for Business’ rates as well as standard rates.

This is what you see on hilton.com:

‘Hilton for Business’ rates are worth booking because they are around 2% cheaper than Member Best Flexible or (just launched) Member Advance Purchase rates.

Here’s an example for Hilton Manchester Deansgate:

As you can see, you are saving £3 on the Flexible Rate and £2 on the Advance Purchase rate by using ‘Hilton for Business’.

How does it work for Hilton Honors points?

The guest receives their Hilton Honors points and elite night credit as usual. This is important – the person who stays is not in any way worse off by using ‘Hilton for Business’.

On top of this, additional points are accumulated in the ‘Hilton for Business’ acccount:

  • 7,500 Hilton Honors points (worth £25 on our valuation) are earned after the first stay is made under the ‘Hilton for Business’ rate (first stay per account, not per person on the account)
  • 5,000 Hilton Honors points (worth £17 on our valuation) are earned for every 10 nights booked in aggregate by employees using the ‘Hilton for Business’ rate

The person who set up the ‘Hilton for Business’ account decides what to do with the points. You can transfer them to your own Hilton Honors account or you can transfer them to one of your registered employees.

You cannot redeem points directly from the ‘Hilton for Business’ account – they must be transferred to a personal account first. This is a positive, because it means there isn’t an isolated small balance in the ‘Hilton for Business’ account which may never be used.

Conclusion

Last year I signed up Head for Points for ‘Hilton for Business’ and I was impressed by how slick it was.

Because there is no separate ‘Hilton for Business’ website, I don’t need to mess about with a different log-in or password. I can control everything from within my personal Hilton Honors account.

It’s worth registering for ‘Hilton for Business’ if you have a business email address, especially as you can now book pre-paid rates. You’ll make a small saving of 2% or so and you’ll get an extra 500 Hilton Honors points per night, albeit they don’t pay out until you’ve accumulated 10 nights.

The carrot of 7,500 bonus Hilton Honors points for your first booking is obviously worth having too!

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

Holders of The Platinum Card from American Express receive FREE Hilton Honors Gold status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Gold, Radisson Rewards Premium and MeliaRewards Gold status.

    A side effect from this for me.

    Almost all flexible bookings I cannot cancel anymore online. I need to call in.

    During Euros I could not cancel an hotel. Calling the hotel was impossible as they had a loop in their phone system. Called Diamond line and they confirmed it.

    Finally impossible to cancel the rooms and I got a bill for no show for 3 rooms and about 1300 euro.

    Hilton refuses to compensate this saying I was too late to cancel.

    After reading HfP article about double nights credit in July last year, I registered for Hilton for Business using my personal HH account and achieved Diamond status by December. However, during the registration process there was no mention of creating a new account. So I have always wondered where my 7500 points have gone despite using Hilton for Business rate twice. Rob, can you please explain the process.

      Click ‘Hi’ in top right at hilton.com, click ‘Manage Hilton for Business’ and pending points should show.

    I’ve just tried applying for this and have been rejected but not sure why I’ve asked for clarification. Below is their initial rejection email.

    “We appreciate your interest in registering Avonlea for Hilton for Business. Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed with your registration at this time because your information doesn’t match what’s required for participation. Our decision is based on our current eligibility criteria.

    If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to contact our support team”

    The account has just one email address registered which is the business email. When I try to transfer points, the only option I get is sending it from the business email to the same business email ie same sending and recipient email. How do I add my personal email?

      No idea! Transfers were automatic originally so the points were sent directly to the HH account of the account head. I haven’t earned any since the system changed.
