Get 250 free Nectar points (156 Avios) for 30 seconds work

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

It’s always worth keeping an eye on the Nectar app because it throws out occasional bonuses of free Nectar points, albeit they are often so well hidden you may struggle to find them.

You can currently claim 250 free Nectar points. These post immediately.

250 Nectar points converts to 156 Avios, although you need to convert in chunks of 400. You could also hold onto them until the new Nectar / Marriott Bonvoy partnership launches in a few weeks.

How do you get your 250 free Nectar points?

Go into the Nectar app and you will see a tile called ‘Your 2024 basket revealed’. You obviously will NOT see this if you never shop in Sainsbury’s so stop reading now.

This will show you how you fared among your fellow customers last year. It turns out that I am the No 1 buyer of Jus-Rol cinnamon rolls at Sainsbury’s Fulham Road, which was a huge accolade.

It seems that everyone gets the same amount. They appear to post immediately.

Thanks for the heads up and teh 250 free nectar points! I always read the mail as every now and again a golden nugget!

  • Christian says:

I see your Cinnamon Rolls and raise you Princess Chicken and Ham paste of which I am the number 1 buyer in my Sainsbury’s in Ealing. My dog was sick last year and the paste was the only way I could get him to take his medication !

  • @mkcol says:

No matter how many times I click on it, I end up in an endless loop of logging in to the account I’m already logged in to which then takes me back to the app…rinse & repeat.

    • Irene says:

Same happenned with my husband’s account, mine worked straight away. The difference was I was logged in both browser and app, and he wasn’t logged in the browser. Maybe try to log in the browser before clicking on the link in the app, it worked for us

  • supergraeme says:

For anyone struggling with the app, I found the desktop site worked perfectly on both of our accounts.

    • JH says:

Perfect. Struggled since the article was published. Desktop is the answer!

    • Reno says:

Tried to log in to nectar.com on both Android and desktop browsers, but it insists on sending me a verification code on my email address, which I never receive even when asking for a new code. If this eventually works, this will have been the longest 30 seconds in my life!

  • Bob says:

Here’s again Rob claims this is a site aimed for Business Class highend travelers(in other posts), but writes an article about free £2 worth of points. Go figure.

    • Rob says:

I knew it would lead to funny comments and I was correct. Don’t apply for any editor jobs anytime soon 🙂

      • Bob says:

Well if it’s a paid article (ad), it should be clearly stated in the post. People see you as a knowladge figure in loyality market, much like upscale Martin Lewis, but articles like this makes me think twice believing things written in this website.

        • Rob says:

What are you talking about? Yes, obviously if its a paid article I would be LEGALLY OBLIGED to say it was, which it isn’t, so I don’t. I really don’t understand what you don’t understand.

          • Bob says:

If it’s not paid ad, I don’t understand why you dedicate an article(and your time) for an offer that gives just £2 worth of free points. Even hotukdeals folks skip such an offer.

          • Rob says:

It was the 4th most read article last week, which probably implies we know what we’re doing and you should stick to your day job 🙂

    • Christian says:

I’m a high end traveller and really enjoyed this article and the comedy posts that ensued.

  • Gabriel says:

Could it be that it is not available any more? Today is the 17th

I read this article a bit late
