Get 3,000 bonus points if you (or your partner?) are a new Hilton Honors member

Hilton Honors is still running its offer of up to 3,000 bonus points if you sign up as a new member, although to be honest I had forgotten it existed! It is worth a reminder, especially as the rules say that it ends on 31st December.
As you can see from this page of the Hilton website, new Hilton Honors members will receive:
- 1,000 bonus points after your first stay within six months
- 2,000 bonus points after your second stay within six months

This is on top of your standard points plus any points for the regular Hilton Honors bonus promotions. We value Hilton Honors points at 0.33p so the bonus is worth £10.
As a regular Head for Points reader you are probably already a member of Hilton Honors. However, you could potentially sign up your partner and use that account for your next two stays.
Do not do this if you have Hilton Honors status, however, as it would mean the loss of elite status benefits and the loss of your status bonus.
Hilton Honors points can be transferred for FREE to any other member via the transfer page of hilton.com here. You do not need to have the same address. This means that your partner could move the points over to you after the stay.
My wife does this after any work-related Hilton stays she does, as my status is higher than hers and it makes sense that any redemptions we do are booked from my account.
The sign-up bonus offer runs until 31st December 2024 although I expect it will be rolled over, possibly with a different bonus. You don’t need to register – the offer is automatically applied when you join. Full details are on hilton.com here.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)
There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards. Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.
There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.
You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.
We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.
You can apply for either card here.
SPECIAL OFFER: Until 30th April 2025, the annual fee on the basic Hilton Honors debit card is halved from £60 to £30. The sign-up bonus is also easier to earn – you need to spend £1,000 either in the UK or abroad within three months. The usual bonus rule requires you to spend the full £1,000 outside the UK.
