New Escape lounge to open in Edinburgh Airport

Plans have been announced for a new Escape lounge at Edinburgh Airport, to open next spring.
Escape is one of two lounge brands owned by Manchester Airport Group subsidiary CAVU, initially for their own in-house lounges.
Edinburgh Airport is owned by VINCI Airports so this will – following the opening of an Escape lounge at Bristol – become only their second UK lounge outside of a MAG airport.
The Escape lounge brand sits slightly below Aspire in terms of quality, in my view, and is CAVU’s entry-level offering. It also has the premium 1903 lounge brand.
The new lounge will have seating for 135 customers and is located next to Gate 4. Although not confirmed, this appears to be a reflag of the existing Gate 4 Aspire Lounge which is no longer bookable on the Aspire website.
This is no huge loss as Aspire has a newer lounge at Gate 16, and operating two lounges with the same name in the same terminal was a bit confusing. It will be intriguing to see how Escape plans to out-perform Aspire (assuming Escape agreed to pay more for the space) given that both are heavily dependent on Priority Pass customers.

HSBC Premier World Elite Mastercard gets you get a free Priority Pass card, allowing you access to the Priority Pass network. Guests are charged at £24 although it may be cheaper to pay £60 for a supplementary credit card for your partner.
