Good value Canary Wharf hotel deal via Secret Escapes

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Lincoln Plaza, Hilton’s Curio Collection hotel in Canary Wharf that reopened this year following an extended pandemic closure, is offering cut-price deals in a bid to get people back in.

The offer is on Secret Escapes and is available for stays until March 2025. You will NOT see these prices on the Hilton website.

The price is as low as £108 per night in August, rising to £119-£153 in September and October. This represents a big discount on the standard rate – up to 50% at times. Breakfast is included if you pay a little extra.

If you want a bigger room, you can have one for a small supplement. The deal appears to be available seven days per week.

The hotel has a pool although it is advising that the water is currently cold – something it hopes to fix by 9th August. Free parking is also included, although you need to reserve in advance.

Note that you won’t get Hilton Honors points for your stay, or elite night credit, as this will be treated as a third party booking. That said, given the size of the saving much of the time, it’s a good trade-off.

You can book via this page of Secret Escapes – type ‘Lincoln Plaza’ in the search box, no dates are needed, and it will come up.

You CANNOT do a ‘Best Rate Guarantee’ to make Hilton match the price, as the deal is not ‘publicly available’ – you need to register with Secret Escapes (free) in order to book.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)

There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards.  Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.

There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.

You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.

  • Lumma says:

“Breakfast is included if you pay a little extra”. So it’s not included then?

    • Rich says:

The breakfast rate, which yes, is more expensive than the room only rate, is ‘included’ in the cut price deals currently being offered Lumma.

    • Rob says:

Offers like this are often ‘room only’, hoping to screw you £30 per head for breakfast. This is not the case here as there is a B&B rate too at a reasonable supplement.

….. but that’s too many words for us.

      • LittleNick says:

Will the hotel honour status for free breakfast?

        • Rob says:

No – but most days it is still far cheaper to book B&B than ‘room only’ direct.

  • IslandDweller says:

Estate Agents and Hotel Marketing people…. Both take huge liberties with geography. That hotel is on the Isle of Dogs, but it’s definitely not in the Canary Wharf estate. It’s a ten minute walk away, or if you want the Liz line station, more like a twenty minute walk.
Does this matter? I think yes: the CW estate is extremely secure with constant security presence. Whereas this location is known locally for anti social behaviour – don’t walk here with your phone on show.

    • Geoff says:

Why would you walk anywhere with your phone on show? You should be looking where you’re going, not at your phone

      • ClubSmed says:

Why would you walk around with your phone on show… because you don’t know the area and are using it for your directions.
Have you never used your phone’s Sat Nav function?

        • Gordon says:

Tbf the phone navigation does give verbal instructions, as well as visual ones, so it could be tucked away, still enabling you to navigate to your destination?

          • Thywillbedone says:

An area where I have to use my phone in such a ludicrous fashion is not an area I wish to frequent ….

          • David says:

            Yeah, because that’s discreet isn’t it 🙄

        • Tom says:

Nothing says “dumb lost tourist, please rob me” like someone with a bag staring at a phone.

          • Gordon says:

Exactly, but the OP thinks doing that would render him less likely to be a target, as oppose to concealing a device! Strange comment!

          • ClubSmed says:

            @Gordon
I did nothing of the sort!
The question was asked as to “Why would you walk anywhere with your phone on show?”
I simply answered the question, with a reasonable use case, as to why someone staying in a hotel might do so.
The only “strange comment” here is yours.

          • Gordon says:

@Clubsmed Wow there, as you were? I was referring to David’s comment?

          • BJ says:

I’ll use my phone if I please, anybody reaching out for it will be leaving their own family jewels far too exposed.

      • JDB says:

@Geoff – if you are driving or walking around any town/city there are masses of people looking down at their phones not looking where they are going and often with earbuds as well so they can’t hear you either. They seem to expect everyone not doing the same to avoid them!

    • Richie says:

Phone theft is increasing, it’s not your phone they want though.

    • executiveclubber says:

The area is totally fine, I used to live in a couple of lovely apartments closer to CW but would walk around here regularly, day and night. No need to stoke fear unnecessarily — but you’re in a big city, it’s wise to always keep your phone away.

    • apbj says:

Preposterous to suggest it’s in some kind of no-go area – it’s between a Montessori school and some of the most expensive apartments in London! You’re far more likely to get your phone swiped in Mayfair or Knightsbridge.

      • Tom says:

Robbers might be more attracted to areas where people have a lot of money. Just a thought.

If I need my phone I go into a shop, pub, hotel, bank or public place to use it. I don’t walk around in public with a phone stuck to my hand like a teenager.

And I plan my route before I set off rather than rely on a phone and a signal.

    • daveinitalia says:

I used to live in this area, never had any problems. The poorer areas of the Isle of Dogs are further south but never had any problems there either. It’s quite nice to take a walk down to where the Greenwich foot tunnel is to get to Greenwich without the DLR

      • TGLoyalty says:

Walked around this area many times as well and while not the prettiest it didn’t worry me as much as walking round soho or Mayfair

  • Card Guru says:

Wonder if the HSBC card has been pulled to make way for the Emirates card tie up?

    • points_worrier says:

Doubt it. It’s a global product offered across several markets, and not tied to a simple airline. Still on sale in US.
Likely they’re making a change to the package and/or removing the product. Or making a change to the annual fee, and their IT is so bad they need to suspend applications to do this.

      • Numpty says:

I’m guessing its a change to the product, you wouldn’t want new applicants to be applying for a product that then changes a few weeks later. It must have cost HSBC a few £s for dealing with the complaints when they quietly dropped the free global wifi, and i think the Expedia Gold has gone now too (although was it ever advertised) that Expedia have changed their loyalty scheme.

    • Red Flyer says:

Happened last time just before their fee increased too.

  • Nick says:

Hopeful that the HSBC card will evolve into the UK Star Alliance card… similar to HSBC AU.

    • QFFlyer says:

I’m assuming if it did the earn rate would be awful – using the Aussie model, Star Alliance points work out to be 0.8 miles each, so 0.8/$1, which using 1c per point as a purchase rate, is 0.8%, the exact amount swipe fees are capped at. Hence the $450 annual fee and $3k/m earning cap.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a great card, but I couldn’t justify keeping it after year one. Premier MC must be a loss leader at zero annual fee and 1.5QF/$1 (year 1, then 1:1 ongoing).

  • Jason says:

Just to save anyone signing up hoping to snag a £108 rate. There are just 5 nights in Aug available at this price. Tomorrow (8th), next Monday to Wednesday (12th-14th) and Sunday 18th. Rates for the rest of the month ranges from £140-£176.

  • chris says:

Hyatt offer seems to being at 5k points, not 3k as stated

  • BJ says:

What would I be saving on car parking in this area given it’s included?

    • Tariq says:

I think I usually pay £18 per day for Westferry carpark to walk to Hilton Canary Wharf.

      • BJ says:

Thanks Tariq, it’s a saving worth having as we usually visit five nights at a time.

  • MPC says:

Boo, i was just thinking about signing back up for the HSBC card. Will wait and see what appears…
