NEW: Redeem Virgin Points for the new Virgin Red VIP box at The O2 in London

Well, this was a pleasant surprise to receive in my inbox.
Since it launched, Virgin Red has had a box, the Virgin Red Room, at the AO Arena in Manchester. You have been able to redeem Virgin Points for seats – this article shows you what Sinead found when she gave it a try last year.
Virgin Red has now added a box at The O2 in London. 12 artists are now bookable for June and early July, including Peter Kay and Liam Gallagher.

This may, or may not, be the box that Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines were using but weirdly never offered up for redemptions or any sort of customer event.
Virgin Red didn’t supply us with any photographs, presumably because:
Virgin Red will be adding some sparkle to the room in true Virgin style this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for renovation news
The images below are of the Virgin Red Room in Manchester.
This is what you need to know:
- the box contains 28 seats, so it is larger than the Marriott Bonvoy box at The O2
- tickets are bookable with Virgin Points via the Virgin Red app
- tickets come with access to the fast track entry lane at The O2
- tickets come with two free drinks per person
- food, and additional drinks, will be available for purchase in the box

What concerts are currently bookable?
The first wave of redemptions have just gone live.
You can book (price is for two people, these are all ‘buy it now’ deals):
- Peter Kay, Sunday 2nd June (35,000 Virgin Points)
- J Balvin, Wednesday 5th June (35,000 Virgin Points)
- Tool, Monday 3rd June (30,000 Virgin Points)
- Thirty Seconds to Mars, Tuesday 4th June (35,000 Virgin Points)
- Liam Gallagher, Thursday 6th June / Friday 7th June / Monday 10th June / Tuesday 11th June (45,000 Virgin Points)
- The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer, Saturday 8th June (45,000 Virgin Points)
- Doja Cat, Friday 14th June / Monday 17th June (60,000 Virgin Points)
- James, Saturday 15th June (35,000 Virgin Points)
- IVE, Sunday 16th June (40,000 Virgin Points)
- Karol G, Tuesday 18th June / Wednesday 19th June (40,000 Virgin Points)
- USA Basketball Showcase, Monday 22nd June / Tuesday 23rd June / Saturday 20th July (30,000 Virgin Points)
- Megan Thee Stallion, Wednesday 17th July (50,000 Virgin Points)

This is your third route to O2 tickets
Remember that there are two other routes to getting tickets for events at The O2:
- Got Marriott Bonvoy points? Marriott Bonvoy has its own suite – tickets are made available, usually on a ‘buy it now’ basis, for points via the Marriott Moments website here. The box is now closer to the stage after it was relocated, and food (a hot buffet) and unlimited standard drinks are included in your package.
- Got Avios? Qatar Airways has the ultimate VIP experience – a pair of tickets per show is auctioned for Avios for The NinetyThird, the exclusive new club at The O2 via Privilege Club Collection. I reviewed it here. Membership of The NinetyThird would otherwise cost you £18,000 for a year, to give you an idea of its exclusivity. Your tickets come with £400 (not a typo) to spend on food and drink whilst you are there – easily spent, given the champagne bar and the fine dining restaurant.
There’s really no excuse now for missing out on concerts at The O2 …..
If you want to top up your Virgin Points for a future concert redemption, you now receive 18,000 Virgin Points as a sign-up bonus with the Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Mastercard. Our full review is here and you can apply here.
