Hilton Honors has launched what is, almost certainly, going to be the best value hotel ‘experiences’ redemption of 2024 – if you’re a Formula 1 fan.

You can get two tickets to a VIP party at Silverstone to watch the British Grand Prix on Sunday 7th July for just 125,000 Hilton Honors points for two people.

You can redeem on the Hilton Experiences site here.

Hilton British Grand prix party

Regular readers may remember that Hilton trialled this last year with an event on the Friday practice day. This year it has brought that back – you can go for 100,000 Hilton Honors points – but doubled down with an event on race day too.

Hilton operates the Hilton Garden Inn hotel which is built into the circuit at Silverstone, overlooking the Hamilton Straight. The hotel was built with a roof terrace to allow events like this to take place.

This is how the race day event is described:

Enjoy all day VIP hospitality with free-flowing food and beverages and unrivalled views of the start/finish line and the pit lane from one of the most exclusive parts of the track.

In addition to your experience, your day is inclusive of the following:

– Head to the Concert Zone to enjoy in person driver talks at The Main Stage
– Roll up your sleeves and challenge McLaren’s pit stop time at the official F1 Fanzone Pitstop Challenge
– Champion your inner racing driver and compete against Lando’s Silverstone lap record at the official F1 Fanzone Racing Simulators
– Explore historic parts of the track at your leisure and observe the iconic 180mph speed of Copse Corner
– Explore the Entertainment Village and Sports Zones
– Giant screen playing live action-packed racing

Please note this package does not include rail or airfare. Parking is limited, therefore complimentary shuttle buses will be available to and from Milton Keynes train station.

No children under 7 are allowed because, well, you’re on a roof. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

damm.. waiting for some hilton points to post into my account…. this post will scupper the plans

  • LittleNick says:

Will Qatar do anything as they’re a lead sponsor?

    • Rob says:

They will be auctioning a Paddock Club package but that will go for around 1m Avios. There is nothing else planned that I know about – and they’ve done nothing else for the other races so far this season.

I think there will be stuff around the Qatar Airways Cup rugby in June.

  • tony says:

Bagged it – even had to buy an extyra 60k points, posted straight away. Thank you!

    • Tom says:

Whenever I have bought points they take 12-24 hours to post.

      • tony says:

Must admit that was my concern, but logged out & back in and bingo they were there. Went last year, sitting in the (not very) cheap seats on the Hamilton Straight and looking enviously at the parties going on infront of the Hilton.

        • Rob says:

In my experience, points.com (which handles purchases for Hilton etc) makes a security decision when you order – based on what I don’t know – and either decides to post them immediately or deliberately builds in a buffer in case of fraud.

  • NICHOLAS says:

    Sold out

  • Tom says:

The power of HfP. I was keeping an eye on these to see how quickly they sold. Tickets were selling and they had about 17 available. Then over the course of the next 30 mins down to 15. Suddenly, in the following 10 mins down to 0. I suspect this coincided with the Hfp article going live. Shame that AMEX transfers are not instant as I don’t keep that many points in Hilton.

    • Rob says:

There were 25 sets. I’m surprised more didn’t go after the SeatSpy alert went out at 7.30am. I can’t do much until 9am as I’m dropping the kids – not sure why I bother given how old they are, and only one child was kidnapped off the streets in my neck of the woods yesterday so the odds are fairly decent that they’ll make it.

      • Tom says:

I got the alert at 7.30 from SeatSpy and by 8.55 there were still 17 pairs left. Then HfP….. It’s a great tool for the casual collector, but it’s not the first time an article has scuppered my plans. I think what I’ve gained here far outweighs the occasional spotlight on a deal that accelerates it’s sell out. Had you left you kids to run the kidnapper gauntlet on their own, I guess they would have gone even quicker.

      • Fazzy Bear says:

Does seatspy give alerts for Emirates Skywards redemptions?

      • Chrisasaurus says:

Well you have horses you look out for too for anyone north of the river

      • Gordon says:

A friend of mine , puts Apple air tags in his kids pockets incase this happens!

  • will says:

There’s the reason to keep a slush fund of points knocking around.

    • Rob says:

I did say in the comments the other day that I always keen a slush fund of Hilton available for this sort of thing (not that I’m going to this, can’t face the traffic!). Marriott is instant from Amex so I’m less bothered about that. I also have enough IHG sitting around if needed although that is less by design and just because I’m not getting good opportunities to burn them.

      • meta says:

I would never spend points on this or any such events, but I’m glad people are finding use for them and buying points for it because it means a bit less competition for rooms.

        • will says:

I’ve become almost the opposite of this with Hilton, I haven’t managed to find any value in points or Hilton rooms for many years now but quite a few occasions where the events have been very interesting.

  • Alex Kinch says:

There were seven available, went to buy some more points as was a little short and they’d sold out by the time I’d done that. Purchased points still not posted 😔

  • Rafal says:

What am I doing wrong? On the Experiences website I see only an option to BID for a Vip Experience, and REDEEM for only a Friday Rooftop Experience.

    • Rob says:

Sunday is sold out now so it has disappeared from the page.

    • babyg says:

you are doing nothing wrong… just read the instructions (sunday REDEEM are sold out thou)
