  The proper restaurant is pretty snazzy. The bar food (which is also what I had when I was there, because I was on my own) is what you’d expect – £20 burgers etc.

    You really will have your work cut out to spend £400 on that basis. Bizarrely cheap, it’s £30 for a main course in a pub where I live. I suppose there is a bit of cross-subsidy from those £15,000 per year membership fees.

      Like most meals it depends on how much you drink.

      2 G & Ts each with service will cost you thick end of £100

      More expensive than many 3 star Michelin restaurants.

      Wine starts at £48
      Pretty sure L’enclume wine starts at £44 for better wine.

      £25 for 1/6 of a bottle of champagne that they are selling for £110 is outrageous!

        Why?

        You would expect a full bottle to be cheaper than buying a bottle’s worth in individual glasses.

        You get 6 glasses of champagne out of a bottle.

  Targets/limits have a funny psychological effect on many people. Unless the wine list heads beyond what you’d expect at a concert arena, it may have been cheaper for Qatar to say “free bar” than give people a £400 target… 😀

    The problem with a free bar is people will batter the champagne, whisky and brandy, so even pretty expensive hospitality sports packages often excludes these.

  As I live in Morocco, I tried booking CMN-MAD Avios redemption on RAM. The Avios amount was reasonable but the taxes and fee were 75% of the cash fare. Went with Iberia Regional for a RFS saver booking instead. Had to trade down from a 737 to a CRJ.
