Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Avios has a new logo – what do you think?

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The avios.com website has been relaunched as a general information site about Avios.

This used to be the place that members of Aer Lingus AerClub and Vueling Club would go to book flight redemptions.

AerClub will soon have its own flight redemption platform on the Aer Lingus site. During the transition period, the only thing that is currently possible from the Aer Lingus and Vueling websites is to use Avios for a discount on cash flights.

The most interesting thing on the new avios.com site is a new Avios logo. See:

New Avios logo

It’s not necessarily better than the previous one, see below, but it is more suitable to online use because of the single colour, lack of depth and the ‘straighter’ lettering. Here’s another version:

  • 1ATL says:

The Bristol Escape has been refusing access to PP card holders recently citing that access is only for paid access booked on the Airport /Lounge website and On The Beach customers. Sounds like the OTB contract is possibly more lucrative to MAG than PP.

    • Rob says:

It would be very difficult for it to be worse.

    • Travel Strong says:

… and then when you talk them in to letting you in just for a short period – it’s less than half full with one end not being used.

  • Daniel says:

Why did they make it bolder? Looks awful.

  • Daniel says:

The heading font on the website is quite nice. They also need to decide if it’s avios or Avios.

  • Speedbird676 says:

The old logo always made me think Panadol.

    • Numpty says:

Thought it looked like a viagra pill. From what I’ve seen, on the TV.

      • Rob says:

Avios wouldn’t be a bad name for such a drug! I can imagine people thinking that actually.

  • Terry says:

The new logo points forward; the old one pointed backwards. Interesting.

    • No longer Entitled says:

And you too can secure such creative excellence for your business for a seven figure sum.

    • Ryan says:

How / why do we consider left to be backward and right forward? Who’s to say it’s not the other way around….(?!)

    • Travel Strong says:

and the text aligned OK with it forwards, and now looks clunky and misaligned with it backwards. I wonder how much this rebrand cost!

  • Gary says:

When I was at the Bristol lounge last year they told me that the recently re-opened 1903 lounge was temporary (it’s small) and would be moving to the larger space occupied currently by the Cabin bar/restaurant opposite it. Given that I usually struggle to get in the Escape lounge, I would have thought there was capacity for two. Currently, the escape and 1903 lounges are far apart – opposite sides of the airport really.

    • RYan says:

The capacity thing is key, since Covid I’ve hardly ever been able to have a comfortable amount of space (usually a high chair only). I’m surprised that it didn’t push capacity to 1903

  • Roberto says:

    It’s a little phallic to be honest…..

    • G says:

      I don’t know what you’re packing… but I don’t see it!

    • Skywalker says:

      I see what you mean @Roberto 😀

@G – Draw an outline around the word ‘avios’ and the logo to the right of the word – you will see it then!

  • Matt says:

    RIP Frutiger Aero!
