Some sale inspiration
After a busy Christmas and New Year, it could be a good time to take a break and make the most of the Hilton Sale.
If a city break in the capital appeals, then you could try The Gantry in Stratford, one of Hilton’s Curio Collection hotels. With its boutique hotel feel and strong design aesthetic – see the exterior photo above – it would be a great base for exploring this increasingly interesting part of town. You’re also only a stone’s throw from central London courtesy of the Elizabeth line, Central Line or Jubilee Line.
Rhys reviewed The Gantry earlier this year – click to read.

Another great option for a London city break is Lost Property St Paul’s London (also part of the Curio Collection) in the heart of the City of London. This hotel is in sight of St Paul’s Cathedral and a short walk across the Millennium Bridge to Bankside and Tate Modern.
Rhys has also reviewed Lost Property St Paul’s – click here.
Slightly further afield, you could try something a little different and head to the Hilton Heidelberg in Germany which opened last week. Hilton Heidelberg is a short stroll away from the historic Old Town with its quaint streets, squares and ancient buildings. Very accessible from Frankfurt airport, this would make a great, intellectually satisfying, weekend break.
An image is below and the Hilton Heidelberg website is here.

We’ll be reviewing a couple of other interesting Hilton properties – one in London and one in Berlin – before the sale ends to give you some more ideas.

How to earn Hilton Honors points and status from UK credit cards (April 2025)
There are various ways of earning Hilton Honors points from UK credit and debit cards. Many cards also have generous sign-up bonuses.
There are two dedicated Hilton Honors debit cards. These are especially attractive when spending abroad due to the 0% or 0.5% FX fee, depending on card.
You also receive FREE Hilton Honors status for as long as you hold the debit cards – Gold status with the Plus card and Silver status with the basic card. This is a great reason to apply even if you rarely use it.
We reviewed the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card here and the Hilton Honors Debit Card here.
You can apply for either card here.
SPECIAL OFFER: Until 30th April 2025, the annual fee on the basic Hilton Honors debit card is halved from £60 to £30. The sign-up bonus is also easier to earn – you need to spend £1,000 either in the UK or abroad within three months. The usual bonus rule requires you to spend the full £1,000 outside the UK.
