I get regular emails from readers asking about the position of your Avios points in the event of your death.

We wrote an article which explains how British Airways treats your Avios balance after your death. The reality is different to the rules, which say that your Avios are wiped.

Qantas has recently taken a stand on this issue and formalised its rules with the same policy that BA unofficially applies.

It would be good to see a similar policy applied by British Airways, especially as it already unofficially follows this policy if approached by the executor.
