Earn double Virgin Points at Bicester Village

Bicester Village, the luxury outlet shopping destination in Oxfordshire, is running a special offer with Virgin Red.

Virgin Red members will earn double Virgin Points when shopping at Bicester Village until 30th October.

The standard Virgin Points rate at Bicester Village is 1 per £1 spent, which is doubled to 2 per £1 during this offer.

Earn 4 Avios per £1 spent at Bicester Village

You do not need to claim your miles in each individual store you visit.  Instead, simply hold on to your receipts until the end of your shopping trip.

Once you’re done shopping for the day, go to the Village Welcome or Tourist Information Centre and present your shopping receipts to collect your points.

Alternatively, you can use the e-redemption service. You can email a copy of your receipts to Bicester Village and they will ensure they are credited to your account. You can find out more on their website here.

Don’t forget to check your credit cards for any Bicester Village cashback offers too – there is usually something available. I don’t have any American Express offers at present but there are deals via some Visa and Mastercard cashback portals.

What is the best Bicester Village travel partner?

Oddly, and I only recently realised this after many years, the most generous Bicester Village travel partner may be hotel programme Accor Live Limitless. See here for details.

As you can see, the standard earning rate is 3 Accor Live Limitless points per £1 spent. As 1 Accor point = 2 Eurocents off your next hotel stay (albeit redeemed in chunks of 2,000 points) you’re getting roughly 5% back. This is more generous than taking Virgin Points, even during the current double points offer, but only makes sense if you are already an active Accor member.

  • Andrew J says:

A couple of typos in the Bicester section referring to Avios rather than Virgin points.

    • Rob says:

Thanks, fixed. Did this at 11pm last night and based it on the last Avios one 🙂

  • Jess says:

In the Bicester Village app, under the Partner Offers there is an offer for triple Avios until October 30th.

  • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

They really need to sort the TP earning out with EI.

Is it because they aren’t in One World or for some other (non IT related) reason?

    • Rhys says:

They’re not oneworld. They only earn Avios because Aer Lingus adopted Avios.

      • The real Swiss Tony says:

But the daft thing is if you book the EI flights to the US on the BA codeshare (which I believe was the default for BA Holidays) then you do get the tier points…

        • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

Oh @Tony that’s interesting. I’ll have a look into that for a couple of trips I’m planning for next year.

  • Michael says:

One of the top results on Google for “tier points aer lingus” is an article on here that suggests you do earn tier points when flying Aer Lingus. Might be worth updating/removing that article to stop any confusion.

    • Rob says:

I was told it was happening – in fact BA staff posted on social that it was happening – and then it got pulled again ….
