Marriott’s Moxy Plymouth hotel opens

After long construction delays, Marriott’s Moxy Plymouth hotel opened its doors this week.
The hotel forms part of Millbay, a new waterfront quarter which is currently seeing major regeneration.
At 200 rooms, it is relatively large for a regional hotel. Despite the size the hotel has no dedicated restaurant. Apart from breakfast, food options are limited to small plates ordered from the bar.
The hotel bar will be open 24/7 – I’m not sure what this says about Plymouth! Non-residents must leave at midnight, however.

Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya opening in August
If you are planning a trip to Tokyo this year, I wanted to briefly flag that IHG’s Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya now has an opening date – 29th August.
Tokyo is surprisingly low on internationally branded hotels so the addition of somewhere new to stay using points (or get status benefits when paying cash) is welcome.
