2,000 lucky holders of The Platinum Card from American Express are about to get themselves a very generous offer indeed – £400 of free Marriott International hotel stays.

This new offer has just launched. Only 2,000 people are able to register.

If you have The Platinum Card, I STRONGLY recommend that you look at your online offers page IMMEDIATELY. If you see this offer, click ‘save to card’. It will disappear as soon as 2,000 people have saved it.

American Express Amex Platinum card £400 free Marriott stays

I do NOT have this offer. It is possible that this is one for non-Londoners.

Do I really get £400 of free stays?

Yes. Here are the terms:

  • Spend £400 and get £400 cashback
  • You must stay by 23rd November
  • Valid at participating hotels

What hotels are ‘participating’?

Not many, unfortunately. However, they are all very high end and you’re in for a treat with your free £400.

£400 of free Marriott hotel stays

In the UK, your options are:

I live in London. This is pointless for me.

No it isn’t. Assuming that you simply don’t just fancy a change of scene, how about this?

Book the cheapest room you can find, and then spend the difference up to £400 in the hotel restaurant and bar. Go home at night if you must, then pop back to check out the next day.

Think of all the Marriott Bonvoy points you’ll earn as well.

There are numerous non-UK options too although only two German hotels are outside the UK quarantine rules.

If you are targetted for this offer, you are in for a great short break. Enjoy.

PS. On Tuesday, I hope to run another article showing the special benefits that you will get if you book via our hotel booking partner Emyr Thomas.

Thanks for this Rob, have it on my card (Hertforshire, renewed approx 4 months ago) but not on suplimentary.

I have saved on my Platinum Amex (call me lucky)…

    Spend £200 get £50 back @ Marriott
    Spend £200 get £50 back @ Marriott
    Spend £400 get £400 back @ Marriott

Yes, I do have all 3 of those saved and I know there are 2 of the same. Has anyone had this before with duplicate offers or 2 offers for the same merchant? I am thinking of 2 possible options.

1: Spend £400 on 1 stay and get £500 back (all 3 offers post above).
2: Spend £500 on 1 stay and get £500 back (not sure about this one).
3: Spend £600 on 1 stay and get £500 back (maybe split to a £400 and £200 transaction).

    Let me know your thoughts!

    • Jonathan says:

Double dipping has worked before with some offers (Harvey Nichols was one) but no guarantees or comeback if it doesn’t!

    • Andrew says:

If you spend £400 you will get £500 back.

    • TGLoyalty says:

You’ll get £300 back for £400 total spend.

      • TGLoyalty says:

        !!! £500 !!! Fat fingers.

        • Ryan says:

          Thank you all!

Feels like I have won a competition!

          • Andrew says:

You have!! Other loyal platinum card holders like me got nothing. Enjoy your hotel stay and £100 spending money. Let’s hope other nice deals are on their way for us all.

          • Gin and Tonic Please says:

I’ve had this before for World Duty Free and Harvey Nichols and got the double dip both times. I know it’s obvious, but worth checking the hotel(s) you want to stay at are participating in all 3 promos.

  • Dwadda says:

Didn’t get that deal on mine but 100% back up to £100 shopping at Waitrose, John Lewis or Deliveroo works for me… Even if they lock me down.

  • Jeremy Rose says:

    I got it with a London postcode….

  • Onlysuites says:

Quite annoying how the business platinum is getting nothing recently.

  • n_g says:

Excellent, saved to card, based in SW19.

Looking forward to article about what London Hotels options look best when combined with FHR or Emyr.

Did the Langley last November and looks available for the final weekend of this offer but may stay central given I’d be unlikely to stay in Central London normally.

  • Sk123 says:

Thanks Rob, got the offer. The hotel I have in mind can’t accommodate 2 adults and 2 children! Will need to wait for article by Emyr and check what can be done.

    • Sk123 says:

I meant article about what Emyr can offer

    • Simon says:

Ditto this. An idea on Emyr/family options would be great.

    • Denis says:

At some properties a child can use an existing bed free of charge. We will be checking in 2 adults and 1 kid (4 of us).

      • Sk123 says:

My kids are 14 years and 11 years so I’m not sure if I would be allowed to book a room with a king bed and a single rollaway but turn up with two kids. Let’s see. Rooms with even one kids are like £750 for some hotels. Any codes we can use to bring the rate down? Like we have a public sector discount code for Hilton?

  • A270 says:

Can you book this offer over the phone? Payment will still be taken by Amex won’t it or does it have to be via Marriott’s website? Also, does the stay need to be by that date or do you need to just book?

    • Rob says:

You need to stay by 23rd November, in theory. However if you booked a pay in advance rate AND the hotel charged your card before 23rd November, that should work.

Why would you want to book by phone? Best bet is to use Amex FHR or Emyr and get extra benefits on top.

  • Sina says:

Got it too, Thanks Rob! I live in London as well!
