Which British Airways European routes do not offer lounge access?

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

On Saturday we ran a review of the ANA lounge at Porto airport.  This is notable because – whilst it is the only lounge at Porto – British Airways refuses to pay for Club Europe or status passengers to use it.

(If you read HfP by email, you didn’t receive this review because I felt it was a bit of a niche topic to drop into 10,000 inboxes.  You can read the article here.)

Courtesy of Flyertalk, I have a list of all British Airways short-haul destinations which do not offer lounge access.  This is a great bit of crowd sourcing work from the FT community. Keep this list in mind next time you book a trip and are considering whether to upgrade to Club Europe or not.

  • kt1974 says:

When did we lose access to the BOD lounge? I’m pretty sure there was one there (albeit a pretty nasty one…), and several BA flights a day during peak season. Would be odd to suddenly bar access to it…

  • David says:

TLL also refused my Lounge Club card. I contacted LC later and they apologised for this error but I haven’t been back since

  • Lloyd says:

Think Birmingham and Bristol has no access as well?

  • Adil says:

I was flying back from Faro 2 weeks ago and the lounge is only accessible to passengers from non-UK destined flights. You get forked just after initial security and the lounge is on a floor that you can’t access if flying to the UK

    • David says:

Incorrect – you can stay in the Schengen zone to use the lounge, and then head on through to the right area when your flight is boarding. I used it last month before a flight to LCY.

    • John says:

That is the case in many airports on the European mainland – the lounges are in the Schengen area and passport control to leave Schengen leads to a tiny gate area. You should always try to find out where the lounge is before you get to the airport.

Don’t fly from Berlin otherwise you’ll complain that the lounge is only accessible to passengers who are not flying! Once you go through security you can’t get back to the lounge.

  • Ben says:

I swear I’ve been in a PP lounge in Minorca…

  • John says:

Flown from Bristol BA Club this year & the lounge was accessible, also used lounge in Ibiza with Priority pass in June, may have changed?

  • Tilly says:

Excellent. Booked in CE to Valencia in the spring. Looks like from the list there is a lounge.

  • Brian says:

    Good work.
