HfP had 1 million page views in January …. which is a bit spooky, actually

  1m PVs
  200k uniques
  = 5 PVs per unique

  Reality
  A lot of uniques will be one off’s via search. Not all real people will view HFP on more than device. Email analytics are not being taken into account.

  This probably means that in reality Rob has a lot less readers than 200k but they are VERY engaged in the content, reading very often. The fact that older email competitions that had been via post code entered into comments have created 1k in entries probably could lead you to believe the readership is around 20k+ per day based on a few other assumptions – that’s quite amazing, well done

    Usually 10,000 uniques per day online and 5,000 on the email list.

    I don’t know how big your commenter population is, but I reckon you could use that to identify individual users across platforms (e.g. my name/email is pre-populated across all devices I use). It wouldn’t be too tricky with Google Tag Manager, but doesn’t look like you’re using it.

    Then again, I’m sure publishers like higher numbers of unique viewers!

  Well Done Rob, that’s quite an achievement. I always look forward to my morning trio of Points Based info and genuinely enjoy reading them.

  I’ve got quite involved in the “hobby” over the past few years and much of that has only been possible with info from HFP. And just think, you got that info because you “had” to fly First Class on a number of airlines! Sounds like a a great Win Win to me. Really excellent stuff.
