British Airways launches Club Europe flash sale from Gatwick – 13 destinations at £150

Last week, British Airways ran a 48-hour flash sale on ‘Winter sun’ economy flights from Gatwick.

This week, it is offering discounts on Club Europe destinations from Gatwick.  13 cities are available at £150!

You have only 48 hours to book.

Full details can be found on this page of ba.com.

You must travel between 3rd November 2015 and 29th February 2016.

These are the cities included:

  • Venice – £150
  • Malta – £150
  • Innsbruck – £150
  • Nice – £150
  • Rome – £150
  • Bordeaux – £150
  • Faro / Algarve – £150
  • Marrakech – £150
  • Alicante – £150
  • Vienna – £150
  • Seville – £150
  • Friedrichshafen – £150
  • Genoa – £150
  • Geneva – £150
  • Naples – £150

These prices are marked ‘from’ – I don’t know how widespread the £150 seats are when you try to book.

This may be an attractive way to top up your tier points this Winter.  If you are on the way to Bronze or Silver status, a couple of weekends away may be enough to tip you over.  You will earn a minimum of 80 tier points return on these routes.

Marrakech and Malta offer exceptional deals if you want tier points.  As the BA tier point calculator shows, these routes offer 160 tier points return.  Spend just £300 to visit both Marrakech and Malta this Winter and you will get BA Bronze status!  You would also earn 4,000 Avios return on those routes.

I have never seen Club Europe pricing this low apart from on ‘next door’ routes such as Amsterdam or Dublin.  The idea that you can get all the way to Malta in business class for £150 return is incredible.

Remember, you are getting lounge access, a recently improved on-board food offering, all the mini bottles of champagne you can drink, a guaranteed empty middle seat and fast track Gatwick security.

It is a world of difference, especially if having a break with your partner, from hanging around Gatwick and then being stuck at the back of the plane, sharing a row with a stranger, waiting for your mini-bag of crisps to come around …..

The sale ends at midnight on Wednesday.  Full terms and conditions can be found on the flash sale site here.

  • Emily says:

I maybe wrong but is it a minimum of two nights?

    • Rob says:

The rules don’t say that specifically – scroll to the bottom of the ba.com page I link to in the article.

    • JQ says:

BA doesn’t fly to Malta every day, if that’s the destination you were looking at

  • Emily says:

I’ll keep looking but everytime I put in 1 night it has an asterix against the £75, then when you click on it to find the flights it shows a two night stay. But as I say will keep searching! Thanks for the heads up though!

  • Rob says:

Will hopefully take a look at this in an article tomorrow

  • Daniel says:

Skiing Weekend in Geneva booked. It is a shame that I already booked my CE Vienna trip for Christmas Market fun and paid 150 GBP more …

Anyway great promo, 80 tier points for 150GBP!

  • Brian says:

Rob, why have you got different prices for Geneva and Naples? The BA site is showing these as from 150, but you have 220 and 268…

  • Joe says:

Weekend to Marrakesh booked, we’ve wanted go to there for a while anyway and struggle to get anything for less than £100 (net cost after Avios) so that’s a bargain.

Now do I do MLA just for the Tier points which would get me to 565 tier points and almost certain to retain silver by my collection year time (end June)….

  • Sean says:

Brilliant. This is the steal of the century! I was looking at going to Malta in November anyway so this couldn’t have come at a better time.

    My maths:
    £150 each for flights = £300
    £150 saving using 22,500 Avios
    12,802 Avios collected

Meaning that this has cost 9,688 Avios + £150 for two. Compare this to a RFS which is 68,000 Avios + £ 100 for two people. Bargain!

    • Erico1875 says:

This seems to be the way forward using Avios short haul anyway.
      Alicante for 2 CE £298 minus 30K Avios (£200) = £98
5520 Avios back, so just 24480 Avios and £98. Absolute bargain !!

    • Gill says:

How do you collect 12,802 Avios?
My screen shows 2,242 collected for Malta in November 2 pax.

  • pointsarb says:

If you’re shooting for BA silver status with this and you need the 4 BA flights to satisfy requirements for silver, do you need 4 return flights to qualify or is it 4 legs (I.e. 2 returns)? Does anyone know please?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Mike says:

@ pointsarb – its for individual flight, eg legs! So good news!

    • Marly says:

If you are already Bronze, you should normally have already 2 BA flights at least in your account…So only 2 to go! And yes, it is 4 legs!
