Super SWISS flight offer – £123 return in business class to Geneva

SWISS has launched a very attractive promotion to help fill its business cabin over the quiet Summer months.
I like the look of it very much and have already jumped in myself!
If you book for travel between July 1st and September 30th, you will be automatically upgraded into business class when you book a flight between London City or London Heathrow and Geneva.
The Swiss website shows the business fare automatically when you go into the booking process, so there is no confusion over what you are getting. The price is actually £13 higher than economy but this is due to the extra Air Passenger Duty.
You must book by Friday night. Some dates are already sold out but it is available for many dates, especially midweek.
This is a very good deal. For a start, Geneva is a lovely city, especially in the Summer.
£123+ for a return flight in business class – which includes lounge access at both Heathrow Terminal 2 and Geneva, a guaranteed empty middle seat and premium food and drink – is a steal.
London City has no lounges, of course – it is a better deal from Heathrow for that reason.
The flights book into P class. This means that you will earn 1,500 Miles & More miles for a return trip or, of course, you can credit them to any other Star Alliance frequent flyer scheme.
If you are looking for a hotel, the InterContinental Geneva has recently had a full refurbishment. Whilst a little out of the way, by the United Nations, it is the best redemption option in the city and that is where I have booked in. Starwood has the President Wilson but the reviews imply that the hotel desperately needs smartening up.
Club Carlson (Radisson), Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt are not present, surprisingly.
If you paying cash, the Four Seasons is fantastic – I stayed there last time I was in town. There is also a Mandarin Oriental.
This offer is only valid for bookings made by tomorrow night, June 12th, at swiss.com.

How to earn Star Alliance miles from UK credit cards (April 2025)
None of the Star Alliance airlines currently have a UK credit card.
There is, however, still a way to earn Star Alliance miles from a UK credit card.
The route is via Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Bonvoy hotel loyalty points convert to over 40 airlines at the rate of 3:1.
The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points is via the official Marriott Bonvoy American Express card. It comes with 20,000 points for signing up and 2 points for every £1 you spend. At 2 Bonvoy points per £1, you are earning (at 3:1) 0.66 airline miles per £1 spent on the card.
There is a preferential conversion rate to United Airlines – which is a Star Alliance member – of 2 : 1 if you convert 60,000 Bonvoy points at once.
The Star Alliance members which are Marriott Bonvoy transfer partners are: Aegean, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, ANA, Asiana Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, Singapore Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.
